China Expresses Condolences Over Flood In Sri Lanka

President of China Xi Jingping has sent a message of condolence to President Maithripala Sirisena following the floods and landslides experienced in the island during the past two weeks.

President Xi said the Chinese government will fully support Sri Lanka’s disaster relief efforts, pledging assistance and support within China’s capacity to help with the relief and post-disaster recovery of Sri Lanka in accordance with its requirements.

The Chinese President voiced his belief that the Sri Lankan government and its people will overcome the natural disasters and rebuild their homes as soon as possible.

Earlier, Prime Minister of China Li Keqiang said China deeply sympathizes with the Sri Lankan people and will provide assistance and support within its capacity to help with the relief and post-disaster recovery.
