Architect connected to Basil case provides statement

Architect Muditha Jayakody gave a statement to the FCID regarding the property bought by former minister Basil Rajapaksa. He gave the statement to Pugoda Magistrate D. A. Ruwan Pathirana.

He had appealed to the court through a motion that he wanted to provide a statement with regard to the case.

Even though former minister’s lawyer opposed to this moved, the Magistrate rejected this request.

Earlier this month the ex-minister was arrested by the FCID and later released after imporsing severe bail conditions. He was arrested over the regarding the purchase of a one and half acre land in Brownhill, Matara.
