A World War II plane has crashed in the Hudson River, while flying in New York area, yesterday evening.

A body of a 56-year-old man was recovered from the wreckage. He is believed to be the pilot of the drowned plane.

Spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration said that P-47 Thunderbolt was among the three aircrafts that departed Republic Airport on Long Island.
