The Government Medical officers Association (GMOA) has forwarded a letter to President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe explaining their concerns regarding appointments and transfers.

The letter points out that only the ministry of health and the GMOA have the authority regarding the subject and the rivalry of the current minister of health towards the GMOA has created a mess in health service.

The GMOA states that the only solution to preserve the health service in the country is to take over the ministry under the president’s purview.

However, the Minister Rajitha Senarathne told Hiru news that tomorrow’s medical strike won’t be a success.
