Water Levels in Kalu River increases; Officials warn residents of floods

A slight flood situation has arisen due to the increasing water levels in the Kalu River, the Disaster Management Center says.

Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Kodippili said people living in low lying areas in Kalu River should be vigilant.

It is reported that due to the rising of water levels in Gin Ganga the Baddegama area has suffered floods. Also Akuressa, Paraduwa and Panadugama areas were flooded as a result of spilling in Nilwala.
