Thousands of caterpillars created a tourist attraction in the Scottish city of Stirling on Saturday (May 28) after weaving a 10-metre web outside a DIY store.
The huge ‘fairy floss-like’ web in the car park of the store was cordoned off as visitors came to inspect it.
The insects build the webs to deter predators.
The silky blanket has fast become a talking point for shoppers since appearing outside a Wickes DIY store.
Caterpillars, which feed on cherry trees, hawthorn and blackthorn, build the huge webs around their favourite plants to protect themselves from predators while they eat.
