The report compiled by the Committee appointed to gather public opinion and suggestions on the formation of a new Constitution has been handed over to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The report was handed over by Chairman Attorney Lal Wijenayake at the Temple Trees yesterday. The committee obtained opinions and suggestions in verbal and in written form from the public across the island.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said the committee was able to obtain the views and suggestions of the public in a short period of time.
The report will then be handed over to President Maithripala Sirisena on the 7th of June while it will also be given to religious leaders.
