Corpses of 40 tiger cubs have been recovered inside a freezer at Thailand's well-known Tiger Temple located in Kanchanaburi province, west of Bangkok.

The temple has been investigated for suspected links to wildlife trafficking and abuse but monks at the temple have not been immediately available for comment.

Wild life officials have moved 52 live tigers from the temple since Monday while 85 more are still there.

The temple is a popular tourist attraction in the country.
