A meeting between the Minister of Health Rajitha Senarathna and representatives of the GMOA has been scheduled at 9 o’clock tonight, where issues regarding the controversial list of appointments for post interns medical practitioners, will be discussed.
When contacted, GMOA officials confirmed to our news team that its representatives will participate in the discussion.
Elaborating on the matter during the media conference organized to inform Cabinet decisions at the Information Department this afternoon, Minister Senaratne noted that there is no such nepotism in his ministry as accused by the GMOA.
GMOA’s media spokesman Dr. Navin Soyza told our news team that his organization expects to take legal action against the remarks made by MP Chathura Senarathna.
He also said that future course of action with regard to the current situation will be discussed when the central steering committee meets tomorrow.
Meanwhile, addressing the media at Wanawasala in Kelaniya, MP Chathura Senaratne noted that he intends to take legal action against the Government Medical Officers Association in due course.
