President Advises Ministers, MPs To Visit Disaster Stricken Areas

The President Maithripala Sirisena advised ministers and MPs yesterday to visit the disaster hit areas of their electorates and look into the grievances of the affected.

Addressing a special district development committee meeting at the Kegalle Town Hall this morning, the president further stated that the resettlement of the displaced should be accelerated.

At the same time, President Maithripala Sirisena requested authorities to draw special attention to restore facilities for the affected children, to enable them to get back to school without delay.

The President also inquired from authorities about the prevailing condition of the displaced, who are being sheltered in temporary makeshift camps.
