Former Treasury Secretary P.B. Jayasundera has been summoned before the Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry on Massive Fraud and Corruption.
He was summoned to record a statement for giving approval to release 130 million rupees from the Maga Neguma funds to be utilized for the domestic air travel charges of former minister Basil Rajapaksa.
Accordingly, the former Treasury Secretary should appear before the Commission on June 10th.
The Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry has already initiated investigation to the domestic flights used by former minister Basil Rajapaksa.
The investigations have found that funds were collected from various avenues to pay former minister Rajapaksa’s travel fare.
Misappropriating Maga Neguma funds reported to be one of the means among them.
