Order was given yesterday for releasing on bail former additional magistrate Thilina Gamagey accused in connection with possessing an elephant calf without permit.
On this occasion Nugegoda Chief Magistrate Kanishka Wijeratne ordered that the former Magistrate be released on four personal bails of 2.5 million rupees each, and a cash bail of 500 thousand rupees.
The judge issued this order after the former Additional Magistrate surrendered to court yesterday.
On this occasion the Chief Magistrate ordered that a statement be given before the CID today.
In addition the Chief Magistrate ordered that the former additional magistrate to appear before the CID on the last Sunday of every month.
