Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs Palitha Thewarapperuma visited Sabaragamuwa University this morning to open a new cultural center in the university premises.

Interrupted by students, the minister couldn’t enter the campus gates as undergraduates complained about their issues which should be heard while the government makes unnecessary investments on a cultural center.

At this point, deputy minister Thewarapperuma got on to the bonnet of his vehicle and addressed the students, saying that issues should be solved by discussions.

However, the deputy minister had to stay on the bonnet and listen to the students’ matters for two hours.
