Dr. Kalansooriya New DG At Government Information

Dr. Ranga Kalansooriya, a senior journalist and the founding Director-General of the Sri Lanka Press Institute, assumed duties as the newly appointed Director General of the Government Information Department today (June 06).

He was serving as Advisor - Asia Pacific Affairs, at International Media Support at the time of receiving the new appointment. Earlir, he had served as a journalist for the Dinamina as well as the Daily News, where he became the Deputy News Editor in the late 1990s.

He is the son of veteran author Somadevi Paranayapa.
