Former Minister Basil Rajapaksha who was arrested by FCID this morning in connection to a land acquisition issue in Malwana has been bailed out by Pugoda Magistrate.

He has been released on a cash bail of 100,000 rupees and two surety bails each worth 2 million rupees.

Former minister was arrested when he appeared before FCID to provide a statement regarding fraud in purchasing 17 acres of land worth 64 million rupee along with accusation of buying a 120 million worth house in Malwana area.
