Two UK officials arrive in Sri Lanka today

Permanent Under-Secretary at the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the most senior UK diplomat Simon McDonald and Permanent Secretary at the UK Department for International Development Mark Lowcock arrived in Sri Lanka a short while ago.

McDonald and Lowcock will meet with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Leader of the Opposition R. Sampanthan, members of the government, senior officials and UK funded civil society partners during their time here.

They will discuss progress on reconciliation and human rights as well as UK support for reconciliation, and wider areas of cooperation between the two countries.
