Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) says that there is an issue regarding admitting children of doctors who are transferred and the specialist doctors who return after completing their overseas training.

Ministry of Education has formerly agreed to provide suitable schools to children of medical officers but difficulties in proving a permanent dwelling bring complexities in the matter.

GMOA says that the current government put down the promise to admit medical officers’ children without schools to suitable colleges by 15th of May.

Elaborating on the matter, GMOA says that such issues may lead highly qualified medical officials to leave Sri Lanka for foreign lands.
