The Joint Opposition has handed over a no confidence motion against parliament secretary general, Dhammika Dasanayake this morning.
The no confidence motion has been presented on the charge that the vote taking to pass a supplementary estimate of 55 million rupees on May 5 was flawed.
Addressing a media conference held in Colombo this morning, former minister G.L. Peries expressed his views about the no confidence motion.
During the vote taking for this supplementary estimate, 33 members voted for while 31 members voted against. The joint opposition claims this count was in accurate.
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya appointed a committed presided by the Opposition Leader to probe the matter.
