There was no conspiracy behind the technical glitch in the parliament’s microphone system, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya said.

Speaking at the Parliament, which commenced at 9.30 am today, the Speaker said an inquiry was held into the incident.

He explained that the system is 15 years old, and such incidents has taken place in 2002, 2003 and 2004.

He also added that the microphone system will be modified before the end of this year.

Meanwhile, the no-confidence motion against the Finance Minister Ravi Karunayake will be taken up today.
