United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein is scheduled to deliver the country report and oral update on Sri Lanka on the 29th of this month during the 32nd regular session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.
The High Commissioner’s statement will be based on observations made during his visit to Sri Lanka.
UN Human Rights Commissioner Prince Zeid Raad Al Hussein engaged in a four day visit of Sri Lanka in February.
During his stay he met with the President, the Prime Minister, several government figures, civil society representatives and relatives of missing persons.
The High Commissioner is expected to deliver a statement on Sri Lanka’s progress in implementing the recommendations agreed at the previous UNHRC session.
The Human Rights Council will hold its 32nd regular session from the 13th of June to the 1st of July in Geneva.
