No-confidence motion against Finance Minister defeated by a majority of 94 votes; 51 vote for and 145 against

No-confidence+motion+against+Finance+Minister+defeated+by+a+majority+of+94+votes%3B+51+vote+for+and+145+against
The no-confidence motion brought by the Joint Opposition against Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake was defeated by a majority of 94 votes a short while ago.

145 MPs voted against the motion while 51 voted for the motion.

28 MPs were absent in the chambers at the time of the vote taking.

In addition to the Joint Opposition, the JVP also voted against the no confidence motion.

Meanwhile members of the TNA were conspicuously absent in the parliament chambers at the time of the vote taking
