Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, North-Western, Southern, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces as few showers may occur in the North-central province too, the Department of Meteorology stated.

Showers or thunder showers are likely at a few places in the Eastern province after 2.00 pm.

Strong winds at times can be expected over the country, particularly over Western slopes of the central hills and Northern, North central and Eastern provinces.

Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers will also occur at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle, and at a few places in the eastern sea areas.

Winds will be South-westerly and speed will be 30-40 kmph.

The sea area extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanthurai (particularly in the Gulf of Mannar sea area) and sea area extending from Batticaloa to Hambantota via Pottuvil can be rough at times as the wind speed can be increased up to 60 kmph.
