The Kosgama Government Hospital which was damaged by the recent explosion at the Salawa Army Camp will be handed over to health authorities tomorrow following repairs.
Schools in the area which were temporary closed will be reopened from tomorrow as well, authorities said.
Meanwhile, 76 Government Assessors commenced valuations of the damaged houses yesterday.
After the final report is compiled, compensation is expected to be paid with effect from Tuesday (14).
An allowance of Rs. 50,000 is to be provided for a period of 3 months to the families affected.
Security Forces Commander of the West Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe stated that nearly 3000 Army personnel have been deployed for clean-up activities.
Journalists questioned if there were any truth to the rumors that the fire was the result of actions of conspirators.
He vehemently denied it.
