The Pivituru Hela Urumaya (PHU) leader MP Udaya Gammanpila reported to the special investigation division of the Police Headquarters this morning.
Gammanpila was summoned to record a statement with regard to a complaint that he had sold shares of an Australian company on the strength of a forged power of Attorney.
The share holder of the Australian company in question made the complaint against Gammanpila in 2015, citing that the power of attorney issued in the month of April 1997 was counterfeited.
Meanwhile MP Gammanpila filed a petition with the Supreme Court on June 9th requesting that the police special investigating division be prevented from being able to arrest him.
Gammanpila has named seven respondents in his petition including the IGP.
