Compensation+Of+Rs.+50%2C000+To+Affected+Persons+In+Salawa+To+Be+Issued+Today

The families whose houses destroyed in the Salawa Army camp explosion will receive a monthly payment of Rs. 50,000 with effect from today.

Meanwhile, four schools that were closed following the explosion have been reopened yesterday.

Principals of the schools noted that the turnout of student attendance was reported over 60 percent yesterday.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Army distributed stationery and other school equipment among the affected students at the four schools.

In addition, the valuation of damages to houses and properties in the most affected Salawa village, conducted by 106 government assessors, was also concluded yesterday.
