Former OIC of Aluthgama Police Crimes Division appeared before the Supreme Court today and personally apologized to the petitioner and the Chief Justice.

The former Crimes OIC apologized with regard to a petition filed in connection with assaulting a person at Darga town.

Accordingly, the panel of Supreme Court judges comprising Chief Justice K. Sripavan and Justice Buwanaka Aluwihara decided to conclude the hearing of the petition.

A person named Mohammed Mawjood Ahamed filed a fundamental rights (FR) petition with the court, stating that he was subjected to assault and physical harassment at Darga town on the 23rd of September 2014.
