Cigarette, Liquor Taxes Will Be Increased – Sarath Amunugama

The government has decided to increase the taxes imposed on liquor and cigarettes while reducing the percentage of the Value Added Tax (VAT) imposed on private health services, Minister of Special Assignments Dr. Sarath Amunugama states.

The Minister stated this while addressing a press briefing held at the Sri Lanka freedom Party (SLFP) headquarters in Colombo yesterday.

Accordingly the prices of all brands of Cigarettes will be increased by 5 rupees.
