A Joint Opposition MP Mahindananda Aluth-gamage has sent a letter of demand to deputy minister Ranjan Ramanayake and UNP MP Ananda Aluth-gamage claiming a compensation of 500 million rupees.
He has demanded compensation from the two MPs who accused and named him as the owner of an abandoned Defender Jeep in the Madiwela MPs housing scheme yesterday.
Deputy Minister Ramanayake, accompanied by a relative of Mahindananda Aluthgamage, charged that the abandoned jeep without a registered number had been used by the MP when he was a minister during the Rajapaksa administration.
Mahindananda Aluth-gamage responded to the allegations during a media conference convened by the Joint Opposition this morning.
MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage said that the controversial jeep belongs to the Sports Ministry. He went on to say that he had sent a letter of demand to the two MP’s to claim damages for the false allegations.
