The Colombo High Court (HC) today (22) extended the interim order against an order given by the Colombo Chief Magistrate to release fifteen elephants on bonds, till July 7.
The interim order was extended when the revision application against the magisterial order was considered by the High Court.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya on May 20 allowed for the release of 15 elephants kept by various individuals allegedly without proper licenses, on a bond of Rs. 10 million for each elephant. The AG filed a revision application at the Colombo High Court.
