A slow train travelling from Colombo was derailed near Negambo railway station this morning, railway authorities stated.

The trains operating in Colombo - Negombo railway line have been disrupted following the damage in the railway line due to derailment, railway authorities added.

According to the Railway authorities, immediate steps has been taken to restore the railway line.
