The Right to Information (RTI) bill will be taken up at the Parliament today.
If passed, the bill will provide access to information and documents of the government service that were not accessible before.
The current government promised to grant RTI during their election campaign. Thus the bill will be debated upon today and tomorrow.
In a statement Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Gayantha Karunathilaka said the proposed RTI Bill is expected to make changes to uphold good governance and the state functions.
