Ports Authority Protestors to Go for a Hunger Strike

The protest initiated by few members of several trade unions of Sri Lanka Ports Authority is continued today for the seventh consecutive day.

Joint Trade Union Collective of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority said they will have a meeting with Minister of Ports Arjuna Ranathunga and Minister of labour and Trade Unions W.D.J. Senevirathne this afternoon to discuss their issues and concerns in detail.

The co-convener of JTUC Prasanna Kaluthanthrige told Hiru News that a hunger strike will be carried out from tomorrow if their concerns are not fulfilled.
