A Man Abducted from Wewaldeniya Later Found in Meerigama

A person who had been abducted from Wewaldeniya has been dumped in a paddy field  in Meerigama this morning.

Meerigama police said that the victim has been admitted to Wathupitiwala hospital as he had been assaulted.

The 38-year old victim, Tissa Kumara Seneviratne had been abducted by a group of men on June 20th.

A relative of the victim told our news team the abductors came in a white van and kidnapped the victim while he was riding a motor cycle with another person.

Mirigama police said that the victim has been accused of several thefts and other criminal offences.
