Cloudy skies are expected over Northern half of the island.

Prevailing strong windy condition is expected to continue over the country, particularly over the Western slopes of the Central hills and Southern province, and over the Western and Southern sea areas. However, it is expected to reduce to a certain extent after 25th.

Light showers will occur in the Northern and North- Central provinces and in the Trincomalee district.

Showers may occur at few places in the Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.

Strong winds at times, is expected to continue over the southern and western sea areas. However, it is expected to reduce to a certain extent after the 25th.

Heavy rain falls are expected in some places of the North-eastern deep sea area.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kankasanthurai to Batticaloa via Trincomalee.

Winds will be Westerly or South-Westerly in direction and speed will be 40-50 kmph.

The deep and shallow sea area extending from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Colombo and Hambantota and in the deep sea area extending from Kankasanthurai to Trincomalee via Mullaitiv can be very rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 60-70 kmph.

Naval and fishing communities are requested to be vigilant in this regard.
