At least 98 killed and 800 injured in major hurricane-force storms in eastern China

The death toll from hurricane-force winds have killed at least 98 people in China's eastern province of Jiangsu.

It was reported that nearly 800 others were injured.

Chinese media stated that whole villages were levelled and huge trees felled when winds of up to 125 kilometres per hour struck around Yancheng city in the eastern province of Jiangsu on Thursday.
