The leader of the Sri Lankan Telugu community K. R. A. Nadaraja has passed away this morning. He was 59.
He has succumbed to a jaw cancer at his home in Thudagama area, Thambuththegama.
The Telugu community came to Sri Lanka, centuries ago, from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Now they are settled in Batticaloa area. Though they spoke in Telugu, the community fast learned Sinhala and Tamil.
Their main mean of income is fortune telling and showcasing monkey and snake dance.
The last rites of the deceased leader will be held on Wednesday.
