Several spells of shower may occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Northwestern and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts, as sea area extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Mannar and Kankasanthurai and the sea area extending from Batticaloa to Hambantota via Pottuvil may be rough at times as the wind speed can be increased up to 60 kmph.
According to the Department of Meteorology fairly strong winds at times can be expected over the country, particularly over Western slopes of the central hills.
Meanwhile, heavy rain falls are expected in some places of the North eastern deep sea area.
Few showers will occur in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle.
Winds will be South-Westerly in direction and speed will be 40-45kmph.
Other sea areas around the island will be fairly rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 50 kmph at times.
