The Prime Minister’s Office reiterates that neither a Constitutional Draft Bill nor any other document to substitute such a Bill has been prepared so far.
A communiqué issued by the Prime Minister’s Office stated that, in such a backdrop, certain elements are busy spreading rumours that various forms of articles have been added to the new Constitution.
The Constitutional Operation Committee led by the Prime Minister has so far discussed only about the electoral system, the list of devolution of power and the Executive Presidency.
The communiqué also noted that public views were also obtained in preparing the new Constitution in order to accommodate public representation in the new constitution.
The communiqué further stated that certain public views have been published and, such views should not be considered as the proposed Daft Bill of the new Constitution.
