Postal Trade Unions have threatened to launch further trade union action if authorities fail to meet their existing demands.
Several trade unions attached to the Ministry of Posts launched a trade union action on the 17th of this month over 14 demands including resolving salary anomalies, lack of procedure for recruitment and payment for overtime work.
However the strike action was called off after assurances were given by authorities pertaining to the demands made by the postal workers.
The Convener of the Postal Services Trade Union Collective Chinthaka Bandara however stressed that the authorities have failed to address their concerns.
