A petition filed by a student of SAITM, Malambe requesting the registration in Sri Lanka Medical Board was taken up before President of the Court of Appeal (CoA) Justice Vijith Malalgoda and Justice Preethi Padman Surasena this morning.

While the appeal is heard, Medical faculty student activists and anti-private medical college staged a silent strike in front of the Hulftsdorp Appeal Court.

The judges informed the plaintiff that debate on her appeal will be held on 12th and 14th October.

Meanwhile, requests by Government Medical officers’ Association (GMOA), Medical faculty union of University of Kelaniya and few patients who were victimized by SAITM doctors’ treatments to become parties of the case were informed that the request will be considered on 02nd August.
