The decision to give the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) access to the full report by the Auditor General on the Central Bank Treasury bonds issue will be made after consultation with the Auditor General, the Attorney General and the newly appointed Central Bank Governor, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya said today (05).
The Speaker said however that he would give his fullest cooperation to the investigation conducted by the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE).
A full report consisting 1,251 pages, was handed over to the Speaker on June 29. A summarized report was given over to the COPE.
The Speaker said he would consult the Auditor General, the Attorney General and the Central Bank Governor on the sensitive information contained in the report, before handing it over to the COPE.
