US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Nisha Desai Biswal will arrive in Sri Lanka this week.
The Deputy Assistant Secretary for South Asia Manpreet Singh Anand will also join her in the visit.
Ms. Biswal is in Dhaka meeting state officials. They are discussing issues and to extend U.S. assistance to the Bangladeshi government to fight terrorism and violent extremism.
During her visit in Sri Lanka she will meet senior government officials and politicians and discuss bilateral economic cooperation between Sri Lanka and the U.S. She will also hold discussions on democratic governance and reconciliation.
