The two US Assistant Secretaries of State currently visiting the island will tour Trincomalee today.
They will begin by participating in the religious rites conducted at the Trincomalee, Koneshwaram Temple and afterwards they are scheduled to meet with the human rights activists.
Subsequently they will meet with the Eastern Province Governor and Chief Minister to hold discussions.
The two US Assistant Secretaries of State, Nisha Biswal and Tom Malinowski, who arrived in the island last Tuesday, met Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Opposition Leader R. Sampandan yesterday.
Meanwhile participating in a meeting of the business community held in Colombo yesterday, US Assistant Secretary of State in charge of South and Central Asian Affairs Nisha Biswal, said that Sri Lanka had become a model for the whole world.
