A meeting between the visiting US Assistant Secretaries of State Nisha Biswal and Tom Malinowski with Prime Minister Ranil Wickrmesinghe was held at Temple Trees yesterday afternoon (13).
Reports indicated that views were exchanged on bilateral issues concerning economic, political as well as human rights.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader R. Sampanthan also met the visiting US Assistant Secretaries of State at the US Embassy in Colombo yesterday morning.
Later, addressing the media, the TNA media spokesman M.A. Sumanthiran citing the visiting delegates from US, noted that they intended to support the Sri Lankan government with regard to the Geneva resolution.
