Two people arrested over the killing of wild animals in Hambantota

Two people were arrested for killing wild animals by poisoning them in a forest reserve in Hambantota.

They have poisoned the animals that go in search of water due to the drought that is prevailing in the area.

Hiru Correspondent said the duo had poisoned a small spring and set up snares near it to catch them. Most of the caught animals were deer.

They have carried out this work over a long period of time and has sold the meat to Kataragama pilgrims.
