President Maithripala Sirisena immediately condemned the terrorist attack in Nice, France, which, according to French authorities killed 84 people and injured 18 more.

In a Twitter message President Sirisena said he is appalled by the "cowardly nature" of the attack in Nice and offered condolences to the French state.

At least 84 people have died, including children, after a lorry struck a crowd marking Bastille Day celebrations in the southern French city of Nice.
