The Singapore Port Authority has decided to assist Sri Lanka in developing, expanding, modernizing and updating technology of its ports.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe inspected the Singapore Port complex yesterday (18) afternoon.
Expressing his views to the visiting Sri Lankan Premier, South Asian Regional CEO Ang Kim Pong stated that he has already completed a study with regard to the modernization of Eastern Container Terminal of Colombo Port.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe stated during his speech to the 3rd South Asian Diaspora summit yesterday that Sri Lanka should collaborate with the South Indian ports.
Speaking further, CEO Pong said that such initiatives would help tap maximum benefit of the geographical location of Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will meet the Sri Lankan expatriate community and businessmen in Singapore today.
