Three government ministers who visited Jaffna University to look into the recent clash between two students groups are currently having discussions with the university authorities.

Prison Reforms, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs minister

D.M Swaminadan, Deputy Media Minister Karunarathna Paranavithana and Disaster Management Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa joined this minister delegation.

The government issued a communiqué yesterday strongly condemning the incident at Jaffna University.

Meanwhile, Frontline Socialist Party charges that certain factions are trying to exploit this incident to reignite communal clashes.  Party politburo member Duminda Naagamuwa stated this during a media conference held in Colombo this morning.
