Foreign media reported about a risky conduct by Thailand people to gain more tourists attractions. The incident that was taking place in Elephant Kingdom in Chonburi came into light after photographs of it were posted online.
The photos show Chinese tourists, including children, floating on metal rafts and feeding crocodiles off fishing lines.
These photos, taken by a local taxi driver who immediately posted them on Twitter, were seen by Thailand authorities who took action to close the place down.
However, the owner of Elephant Kingdom said that the practice is safe.
'We don't put more than 15 people in a cage at a time.
‘But they can hold more than this. … There have never been any problems and visitors are very happy. We always watch everything very closely,' he has said.
Nonetheless, the Elephant Kingdom was closed for 90 days and officials will be performing safety checks.
