'No Casino', Says Prime Minister

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says that Casino companies will not be allowed to operate in the country.

He stressed that the policy of the Good Governance administration is not to use Casinos to develop the country.

Premier Wickremesinghe stated this during a question answer session at a meeting organized by the world entrepreneurs association held at the Shangri La hotel in Singapore yesterday.

Potential investment sectors in Sri Lanka were discussed during this meeting of world entrepreneurs and, the premier said, in response to a question, that the current government does not welcome Casinos,  as its successor did in the past.

Addressing the meeting, Singapore Trade and Industry Minister S. Easwaran said a conducive business environment has is being developed in Sri Lanka.

He also said that the Singapore Government is ready to assist those entrepreneurs who are ready to tap into such business opportunities in Sri Lanka.
